Practice Information and Frequently Asked Questions

Direct Pay for Mental Health Service (DPMHS)

How does DPMHS benefit the patient?

DPMHS provides patients' the accessibility to obtain mental health treatment for those who do not have coverage for specialty services, high-deductible plans, or those without health insurance. Using DPMHS allows patients to be seen more regularly, and while given more time with their provider.  DPMHS allows us to work directly for the patient. We can schedule patients to be seen in-office within 48 hours. DPMHS limits any questions regarding fees or unexpected balances at time of their appointment.

Is DPMHS common?

Yes, this form of care allows for providers to give patients the necessary care they need including extended office visit times. This is a common form of care in private practices, especially in mental health. If the patient happens to lose their insurance, DPMHS allows for a more affordable treatment plan.

Can I still use my insurance for medications?

Yes, this does not affect your ability to use your insurance for medications.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

We will work with the patient to reschedule the appointment for a different time or date. Patients will be charged a $65-dollar fee for any no-show without a prior 24-hour cancellation for any service scheduled.  The no-show fee must be collected prior to the patient re-scheduling a new appointment.

Other

We do not accept or complete worker's compensation claims, family and medical leave act (FMLA), disability forms, service dogs, or permission for bariatric procedures.

Refunds

We only will provide a refund if the service was not rendered for the patient.

The payments for telepsychiatry will be taken via debit, credit, or HSA/ FSA cards at the time of the appointment.

Do you take Insurance for telepsychiatry?
No, however patients have the option to submit a claim to their insurance. Best Life Mental Health & Wellness can provide you with your billing statement so you may submit your claim.

Who cannot be seen via telepsychiatry?
Telepsychiatry will not be available to patients taking benzodiazepines, substance abuse, or patients with borderline personality disorder due to requiring more in-office care. If interested in telepsychiatry services, please ask to complete the telepsychiatry form.
