Types of Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT- focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions. The goal is to increase awareness of this connection to aid in positive change.
Most effective for patients dealing with mood and anxiety disorders, specifically PTSD and OCD.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
DBT-four main areas of focus include mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.
Most effective for patients dealing with personality disorders. Also used to treat patients with mood and anxiety disorders.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT-focuses on acceptance of life’s difficulties and encourages the individual to choose direction and take action toward change.
Most effective for patients dealing with depression, anxiety, and addiction.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
(EMDR)
EMDR is a structured, evidence-based therapy that helps individuals process and heal from traumatic memories. Through guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation, EMDR supports the brain’s natural healing process—reducing emotional distress linked to past experiences. Often used to treat PTSD, EMDR is also effective for anxiety, depression, grief, phobias, and more. Clients remain fully awake and in control throughout the process, which can be integrated into a broader treatment plan or used as a focused intervention.
